Brazil beat India 4-0 in their first-ever senior men's international meeting on Saturday, with Chelsea forward Estevao and substitute Samuel Lino starring before more than 51,000 fans at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Carlo Ancelotti made eight changes from Brazil's 4-2 win over Australia but kept Vinicius Junior among the starters. India, ranked 138th in the world, began brightly, yet the visitors took control as the first half wore on.
Estevao opens, Pedro doubles
Estevao broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, cutting inside and driving a shot that Gurpreet Singh Sandhu could only deflect into the net. Pedro headed against the post from an Estevao cross before the pair combined again in the 42nd minute: Estevao's reverse pass sent Pedro through, and the Flamengo striker finished for 2-0.
Vinicius was withdrawn at half-time along with several teammates as both coaches rotated. His replacement, Lino, needed little time to make an impact.
Lino's first Brazil goals
Found by Pedro's flick, Lino curled home just before the hour mark for 3-0. India substitute Ryan Williams forced a goal-line clearance from Mauro Junior and later shot wide, but Brazil stayed in control. In stoppage time Lino cut inside and drilled past Prabhsukhan Gill for his second, completing his first two goals in senior international football on his fourth cap.
Tour wrapped unbeaten
The result left Brazil with two wins and one draw from their Australia-and-India tour window. India extended a winless run to six matches and next face Uruguay at the same venue.
