The Candor Post is committed to delivering accurate, independent, and transparent journalism. These guidelines govern every piece of content we publish.
The Candor Post operates with complete editorial autonomy. No advertiser, corporate sponsor, government entity, or political party has any influence over the selection, framing, or presentation of our news coverage. Advertising relationships are managed entirely separately from the newsroom.
Editorial decisions are made solely by our editorial team based on newsworthiness, accuracy, and public interest. Any attempt to influence editorial content by a commercial partner results in immediate termination of that partnership.
Every factual claim published by The Candor Post must be verified by at least two independent, credible sources before publication. For breaking news, we clearly label information as "developing" or "unconfirmed" until verification is complete.
Our intelligence team cross-references claims against newswire services, satellite imagery analysis, and official government communications before publishing.
The Candor Post attributes all reporting to named sources wherever possible. When confidentiality is required to protect a source's safety or employment, we disclose the general nature of the source's position and our reasons for granting anonymity.
We do not publish single-source stories except in rare breaking news situations, in which case the provisional nature of the information is clearly labeled.
Sources cited include: wire services (AP, Reuters, AFP), official government statements, peer-reviewed research, international organisations (UN, WHO, NATO), and on-record interviews.
We correct errors promptly, transparently, and without obscuring the original mistake. Minor corrections (spelling, grammar) are made silently. Substantive corrections are noted at the top of the article with a clear "Correction" label and a description of what changed.
For live blog updates that contained inaccurate information, a correction note is appended to the original update entry and a new update is published at the top of the feed flagging the change.
To report an error, contact: corrections@thecandorpost.com or visit our Corrections page.
Journalists and editors at The Candor Post are required to disclose any personal, financial, or professional relationships that could create a real or perceived conflict of interest with their assigned coverage areas. Reporters who have disclosed a conflict are recused from that coverage.
The Candor Post does not accept press trips, gifts, or sponsored travel from organisations we cover. Our reporters pay for their own travel, accommodation, and access.
Headlines must accurately represent the content of the story. We do not use misleading, exaggerated, or clickbait headlines. Opinion content is clearly labeled "Opinion" or "Analysis" and is never presented as news reporting.
Live blog headlines must represent the most significant verified development at the time of publication, not speculative or unverified information.
Readers who believe we have breached these editorial standards are encouraged to contact our editorial team directly. All complaints are reviewed by the senior editor within 5 business days.
