The episode comes as Washington and Tehran trade warnings over the Strait of Hormuz, tanker attacks, and a U.S. naval blockade of Iranian oil exports. President Donald Trump said at a Friday campaign rally in Mobile, Alabama, that the war would end “very soon” and “probably right after the midterms,” Fox News reported.
Neither Axios nor Fox News identified the two diplomats by name. Iran’s foreign ministry had not issued a detailed response to Saturday’s reported removals in the initial wire coverage.
The Candor Post could not independently verify the diplomats’ identities or travel records beyond the U.S. official’s account given to Axios and Fox News Digital.
